Chapter 16

Brothers

When all was quiet at morning, Omri brought the female Indian to life who went over to Little
Bear, had a talk with him in their language and Little Bear came to Omri to tell that the woman known as Bright Stars was perfect. As days passed by, Boone got a lot better, on fifth they held a ceremony, in which Little Bear and Boone became brothers, and a feast. During the feast, the trio of little people and the boys enjoyed and after it was time to send them back home. Everyone said goodbye, but before they went, Little Bear made a cut on Omri's hand and put his hand on it saying "Brother!" Omri closed the door on the Indians command and both boys sighed, Omri left the room to give his mother the key so he wouldn't be tempted to use it. In my opinion, this was kind of sad to me as well since the boys had send Little Bear, Bright Stars and Boone back.

Chapter 15

Underfloor Adventure

Omri and Patrick decided to take turns to look after Boone, then Omri's mother came to tell that Gillions rat was loose under Omri's room, this shocked him because the two little men were at risk of getting eaten, but now they had to be in bed. As Omri was thinking, suddenly he called out to Patrick to tell him he knows where the key is, which was under the floorboards and so they raised the boards. Little Bear volunteered to go find the key, they sent him down, once there wasn't a sound, the boys were worried, but after a long time they heard something, Omri put his hand in the hole and caught Little Bear pulling him out. Little Bear had succeeded in finding the key, Omri then started finding the army medic, while Patrick put down the board and Little Bear ,still clutching the key, sat near Boone. I say that here the three were relieved that the key was found.  Omri found the medic, took the key from Little Bear, hurried to the cupboard and there he was, Tommy Atkins, came over to Boone to check his wound and then stitched it up, he also gave Little Bear some pills that were for Boone when he woke up and after it was all done, Omri sent Tommy back to his time. Then little Bear started calling out that Boone is awake, so the boys came to have a look and now Little Bear had to look after Boone over the night.

Chapter 14

The Missing Key

When both the boys got home, Omri hardly noticed the smirk on Adiel's face, they went up to and stopped dead at the door. The cupboard was missing, Omri rushed down to ask Adiel where he had hidden it, without a reply, Omri went to Adiel's room and started turning it upside down to find the it. Adiel and Omri wrestled until Patrick found his sport shorts, then Adiel told them it in the attic, they brought it down, but the key was missing, the four boy looked for it, eventually they gave up, after Adiel and Gillion left for a function at school and the boys were depressed. They went down to watch T.V., but as they watched, Boone said stuff about the Indians in the film, so in return Little Bear shot an arrow at him, and he had to remove it and apply the medicine Patrick gave him. They took Boone and Little Bear up to Omri's room, Omri and Patrick were try ing to figure out where the key was and Little Bear knelt near Boone.

Chapter 13

Art and Accusation

Omri  and Patrick head to the bathroom to wash there faces, there Omri takes Little Bear and Boone from Patrick after losing faith in him. Omri then goes to the art room, sits  in a corner and lets Boone draw a picture of his hometown, it was great with hills, cacti, wooden buildings and people, then the art teacher called to see his picture, she was amazed at it after seeing it closely. After school ended, Omri wentto the Yapps store to let Little Bear have a look around for a female Indian, he picked one, so Omri bought it and as he left, Mr. Yapps came over and threatening him to give Little Bear and Boone who he thought Omri stole, but Patrick came up to vouch for Omri and the conflict was over. Omri trusted Patrick again, sharing a toffo with each other and with the two men, and they ran to Omri's house.

Chapter 12

Chapter 12
Trouble with Authority

At lunchtime, Omri gives Patrick the two men to get them some food after talking with him, but when Patrick got a seat, two kids had a fight with him until the lunch lady came to stop them and after lunch he went to the class, but Patrick was nowhere. At last, Patrick slipped into his seat as the teacher turned her back, but when Omri fussed about the food for the two little men, the teacher asked them to leave to thee headmasters office. To me going to a principal's or headmaster's office after trouble is like going to torture. As both boys went in, Mr. Johnson asked them in a rough voice of what had happened and after Patrick was about to reveal the secret, Omri jumped on him and got sent out. The headmaster's secretary tried to calm Omri down so he could explain, but Mr. Johnson, his face gone white with mouth open, came out holding Patrick by his arm. Patrick had shown him the two men!  After lunch Omri goes to class, but Patrick was late and got sent to the headmasters office with Omri. Mr.Johnson, the headmaster, speaks to htem in a threatening voice, but after Patrick show Little Bear and Boone , Mr. Johnson become ill. As they reached the bathroom to wash their faces, Omri took the little men from Patrick and lost trust in him.

When there at school, Omri gave Boone to Patrick, but the two boys were being troubled by a girl called April, but they managed to get inside and into the main hall where the headmaster was making an announcement. During this time, Little Bear got fed up, so decided to start digging with his knife which made Omri yell in pain two times that made the headmaster think it was Patrick and sent them both out. While outside, Omri talked some sense into Little Bear who apparently wanted Boone with him instead of being alone and as a teacher called the boys out, Omri slipped both the little men in one pocket.

Chapter 10

Breakfast Truce

Omri crept to the kitchen, then started making breakfast for himself the two little men. He came up, put the spoonful of  food, then told the both of them had to eat together, this made Boone say about Indians being dirty, but eventually they had to sit and eat and when Little Bear finished, he waited for Boone. When he was finished, he was telling his Indian adversary to fight fair without any weapons and both men started wrestling, kicking and pummeling, after they knocked each other out, they found them selves pinned down by a giant finger and Omri said its time they get cleaned up for school.

Chapter 9

Chapter 9 Summary
Shooting Match

It was still night, Omri put the cowboy in the sock drawer, then had his supper, and gave the cowboy. The cowboy threw the water, shouting and complaining in his strong Texan accent to Omri, then sat down near his horse and started sobbing which to me is weird that a grown man cries after being offered something. Omri then went to check on Little Bear, who finished painting the tepee and wanted a fire in front of the longhouse, after, Omri asked him if he could dance, so Little Bear did a love dance and asked Omri if his painting were good. Omri got in to bed and could hear the horse making sounds.  He was woken at dawn by the sound of shots, Omri got out off bed, scanned his bedroom, and found the cowboy, Little Bear and the two horses were missing. He looked around again, he then saw the cowboy and his horse behind a chair, the cowboy fired two shots while Omri followed his aim and spotted Little Bear with his horse behind Omri's vest which was a hill to them. Omri stopped Little Bear from killing the cowboy by saying he wouldn't get him  a wife as he promised, he then went over to the cowboy giving him his hat , Omri got to know his name was Boone and asked  him what he wanted for breakfast which was steak, eggs on beans and coffee.

Chapter 8

Cowboy

Patrick started asking Omri if he could have one to himself , and then he went crazy, fought with Omri which spoiled Little Bears meal. The Indian got mad, then started chopping wedges out of a chair, but stopped, Omri went down to get a spoon full of hot stew and rushed back only to find that Patrick had brought the cowboy and horse to life. The cowboy then raised his pistol and fired at Patrick's cheek, Omri took the bullet out, set the cowboy and horse aside, then gave Little Bear the stew and promised Patrick to bring the cowboy to school, but don't put him in the cupboard.

Chapter 7

Uninvited Brothers

Omri went out to the hardware shop to buy a new seed tray and seeds, as he did so he asked the clerk maize (which was sweet corn), outsid was Patrick standing, looking at him. He pulled out a plastic cowboy and horse for Omri, but he didn't want them, Patrick then asked whether he could go with him and Omri debated with himself until he said it was okay.  When they got home, Omri brothers, Gillion and Adiel, were in his room, apparently found their rat and were marveled by the longhouse, which was nearly finished, and  Omri had them leave immediately . Patrick got to see the Indian and horse, he was amazed and wanted to bring armies to life, but Omri stops him and explains that if he brought them to life, they wouldn't do what he wanted, which made sense and finally they got some meat for Little Bear.

Chapter 6

The Chief Is Dead, Long Live the Chief

Omri got to school, headed to the library and found a book called "On the Trail Of the Iroquois" , he read some interesting parts, including about the Iroquois Indians called "The Five Nations", their enemy was the Algonquin tribe and English helping the Iroquois. The bell rang, Omri went to the class, he was told by Patrick that there are more plastic Indian toys at the Yapps store, so at lunch Omri went to the store to get a Indian chief only for the bow and arrows and got back to the handicrafts room to make the tepee promised for Little Bear. School ended later, so Omri went home, and found a bit a mess in his room with twigs and grass everywhere, but at least he found Little Bear, finished with half of the longhouse and the horse next to it. He then put the Indian chief  in the cupboard, then opened it and the chief stared at Omri. The chief then died of fright, Little Bear came to take the headdress and cloak and after, Omri's father called him down to go buy a replacement seed tray for the one he took before.

Chapter 5

Tommy

Omri opens the cupboard door, there was a World War 1 medic, Omri tells the him that he is dreaming and wants him to help cure Little Bear. The medic is put down near  Little Bear, then takes out a pair of scissors, a bandage and medicine to patch up the Indian, once that was done, Omri puts him in the cupboard saying goodbye and the medic replies, "A pleasure, Tommy Atkins at your service" and gives a salute, Omri, regretfully, shuts the door. I believe Omri was tempted to keep him but it was too complicated. Little Bear walks up and asks him for :

1. A Bark of a tree
2. some twigs
3. soil

All these were needed to make the longhouse, a type of Native American house, Little Bear wanted, then Omri brought an ax for the Indian and then he left for school.

Chapter 4

The Great Outdoors

Omri took Little Bear and the horse in a box outside his backyard, there he let them out and Omri was amazed by the horses speed. When it was to go back in, Omri put them in the box, then headed back in, but was stopped by his father, Omri was scared and he was crushing the box, later he found by doing so, he frighted the horse who kicked Little Bear, so Omri found a medical orderly and decided to bring his bag to life, but instead puts the medic along as well.

Chapter 3

Thirty Scalps

Before Omri went to sleep, he wanted to know if the magic of the cupboard and key could work on wood and metal, so he did an experiment by putting a plastic Indian tent and a matchbox car and then dozed off. He was woken by Little Bear, Omri opened the cupboard to only plastic items and figures work with the magic and decided to let Little Bear down on the floor. The Indian tells Omri about him and his clan fight with the English against the French and he had taken thirty scalps which horrified Omri. He went down to get Little Bear some meat and as he did so, he realized two things:

1. Little Bear wasn't just a mere toy come to life, but was a real person.
2. He might be still alive in his time and Omri had magicked him out from the past.

Omri also knew if he told anyone about his secret, they would take away Little Bear and the cupboard.  He went back upstairs, gave the Indian his meal and asked what else he wanted like:

1. Bow and arrows
2. Other weapons
3. A horse

Little Bear asked for a horse, so Omri brought one to life and the Indian manged to tame it.

Chapter 2

The Door is Shut

After what happend at dawn, Omri was over joyed about the Indian, after breakfast he left for school, once there in class Omri told Patrick that he liked the Indian which almost let him know about the little secret. During classtime he thought about him and whether he could survive in the cupboard long enough till Omri got back. When school ended,  he ran home, up to his room, opened the cupboard, and found the Indian plastic! He knelt there, shocked, then he locked the cupboard and Omri went to bed without eating. Again, at night sounds came from the cupboard, I think Omri was very happy to see his Indian alive after he opened the door, Omri offered him some food and a tepee. He got to know the Indians name was Little Bear and they both went to sleep.

Chapter 1

Birthday presents

It's Omri's birthday, he gets a plastic toy Indian from his best friend Patrick, which didn't satisfy much, a cupboard from his brother Gillion and a strange key from his mother that once belonged to her grandmother. He puts the Indian in the cupboard, and then locks it, at dawn he hears sounds from cupboard and he opens it to find a live tiny Indian. Omri thought about telling the others, but he knew if he took his eyes of the little man , it might vanish or turn plastic again, then he heard his mother coming up and so he shut the cupboard door with the Indian in it.
